Livestreaming Studios

StreamYard

For several years now, my preferred live-streaming studio app has been  StreamYard. StreamYard is a browser-based live-streaming studio. It works best with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Interview guests, share your screen, and much more. Stream directly to Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other platforms.

I usually stream live to Facebook groups I manage. Before the live stream I set up an Event to promote it in the group. On the event discussion board, I always include a post detailing how to join us in the StreamYard studio. Following is the copy I use for that post:

Here is how to join us as a guest in the StreamYard studio for our live sessions:
Before the broadcast, make sure you have the following:
A laptop or desktop with a webcam and mic.
A recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Opera
A strong internet connection. Just like Skype, you must have a strong internet connection for it to work well. If possible, connect to your router with an ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi.
We recommend wearing earbuds or headphones to prevent audio echoes.
If you don’t have a laptop or desktop, you can also join the StreamYard studio on your mobile device, such as a phone or tablet! If you are using an Android device, we recommend the Chrome browser. If you need any help in doing this, please tag me in a comment to this post at least 24 hours prior to our event.
